I cannot access lego.com nor mindstorm.lego.com. I have noticed that when I google 'download alpha rex 1.0 walking program' these websites pop up.

Color sensor. Introduction The instructions for building the four main LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 models are distributed only on that does not support Linux. The instructions are reproduced here. Programming the NXT with Linux The accompanying programs supplied here are written in NXC. NXC is a simple C-like programming language supported by NBC.
Allows you to write NXT programs and download them to the NXT. This for NBC on Linux is useful. Compiling an NXC program A typical command to compile and download an NXC program by USB would be nbc -d -S=usb filename.nxc Shooterbot.
I have a NXT 2.1 brick and a NXT 1.0 brick with 1.26 F/W. I tried to help a couple team members download a program to the NXT 1.0 brick using the NXT-G 2.0 software and it gave them an error and wouldn't allow the program to be downloaded. How do I find out what version of firmware (1.05, 1.26, 1.28, etc.) will work on a NXT 1.0 retail brick with NXT-G 2.0 software, if any?
Or do I have to install both versions of NXT-G to match with their respective bricks before the programs will be able to download? Re: NXT 1.0 compatibility with NXT-G 2.0 I am a little confused, by your description, when you tried to download the program what error msg did you get? Also when you mention NXT 1.0 vs 2.0 are you talking about the brick itself? Or about the NXT-G software versions 1.0 vs 2.0.
I may be wrong, but as far as I know if you have a program written on 2.0, that program cannot be run on a 1.0 Probably the safe way to be it is to make sure both bricks and both computers are running the same firmware (1.31 is the latest I believe) and the same NXT-G version 2.0 or the latest 2.1f.
